Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Usha Ukande is Professor and Principal, Choithram College of Nursing, Indore, India. She has obtained her PhD (Nursing) on a comparative study of the Health Seeking Behaviour Patterns of women of reproductive age group and M. Sc. (N) Maternal & Child Health (Gold Medalist) from College of Nursing, Christian Medical College, Ludhiana, India. She has around 45 years of professional experience on nursing practice, academic, research and administration. She is recipient of various awards and honour like Hall of Fame by Nursing Honour society of India, Sashakt Mahila award by Lioness Club, Ma Ahilya Prashansa patra, Indore, Best All Round student nurse etc. She is also a resource person for Unicef’s AusAid project for strengthening midwifery to reduce maternal mortality in Madhya Pradesh, Educational Programmes of IGNOU. She is also member of various professional bodies and societies of repute Viz. Trained Nurse Association of India, President- Nursing Research Society of India, Chapter President -Midwifery Society of India, Vice President, M. P. Voluntary Health Association, Society of Neurological Nurses – India, Hospital Infection Society of India etc. and many more.
