Dr. Vandana Roy
Dr. Vandana Roy is the Dean Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Delhi and Director
Professor & Head Department of Pharmacology, Maulana Azad Medical College &
Associated Hospitals. She is an alumnus of Delhi University. She did her PhD in the area of
Drug Policy from University of Delhi and the FAIMER Fellowship in medical education from Christian Medical College Ludhiana (affiliated to FAIMER Philadelphia, USA) and is a member of National Academy of Medical Science. She has over 27 years of experience as a medical educator and researcher. She has worked extensively in areas related to Improving access to quality, essential medicines for patients. As well as improving their rational use both at the Delhi State and National level. At the National Level she has been an Expert Member of various Government Committees involved in preparation of the National list of essential medicines, Committees overseeing Policy related to Use of Anti-tuberculosis drugs in India, planning the National Action Plan for curtailment of Antimicrobial Resistance, National Policy for treatment of Viral Hepatitis etc. She was an elected member of the Academic Council of University of Delhi from 2004- 2008. Has been working on curriculum reforms, creating educational environments and newer methods in teaching methodology- specifically how to make teaching relevant and useful in resource poor situations. She has been on academic committees of Medical Council of India, Diplomate of National Board of Examinations, University of Delhi involved in curriculum reforms.
