Dr. G.S. Kapur is presently Chief General Manager-I/c (Chemical Technology) and heading the R&D activities in the areas of Petrochemicals, Polymers, Nanotechnology, Alternative Energy and Analytical research at Indian Oil Corporation.
He did his M. Tech. and Ph.D. from IIT Delhi. He has carried out Postdoctoral research work at the Institute of Macromolecular Science, Prague, Czech Republic and at the University of Leipzig, Germany.
Dr Kapur is a recipient of prestigious international fellowships like Alexander Von-Humboldt, Germany and UNESCO.
He has 77 patents (34 granted overseas + 43 filed/under prosecution) and 185 research papers published in International peer reviewed Journals (101) and presented in international conferences (84) including keynote addresses in American Chemical Society conferences.
He is Adjunct Faculty (2017-2020) in the Centre for Polymer Science and Engineering, IIT Delhi. He has guided more than 20 M. Tech students and 2 Ph.D. scholars are currently working under his supervision.
Awards Received
4th, 5th and 6th National Award for Technology Innovation in various Field of Petrochemicals and Downstream Plastic Processing Industry, in the category of Research in the Field of Polymer Science & Technology, continuously for the years 2013, 2014 and 2015.
