PROF. ASHIA QURESHI
PROF. ASHIA QURESHI is currently working as Dean cum Principal at Galgotia University, Gr. Noida. She has around 46 years of experience in the academic field. She started her career from AIIMS in the year 1972. She worked at AIIMS at various capacities: P.H.N under WHO project from 1972-80, Nursing Faculty/ Principal as Professor in collage of Nursing AIIMS from 1980-2014 and retired after superannuation on 31st October 2014. She also worked as Dean cum Principal at Prakash college of Nursing, Gr. Noida and Rural Nursing Collage Sonepat. She organized 250 role plays on various national and international health issues and Organized 200 exhibits in rural and urban slums on all health-related days as per WHO themes such as AID DAY, TOBACO FREE DAY, SAFE MOTHERHOOD DAY ETC. Participated actively in pulse polio program as NODAL OFFICER nominated by AIIMS , Govt. of Delhi ministry of health for almost 15 years. Trained nurses on NACO AIDS control program. Participated in formulating policies on RCH, NRHM, F.P, program and many more community care activities. She has 25-National and 10-International publications. She has written Chapters in Books for IGNOU in management courses, medical surgical nursing for ANM and B.sc nursing courses. She has Reviewed and Edited many books in nursing from India and
Abroad. Member of editorial committees of various National and international Nursing journals.
She Guided 50 research projects for M.Sc nursing as Chief Guide, many of them are published in National and International Journals and 100 research projects for B.Sc nursing and post basic B.Sc nursing. She has received Mahila Shiromani Award from, National award by Honorable President of India Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma in President house in 1995 for best community and patient care services, Rajiv Gandhi Excellence Award from NRI society of India in Delhi from health minister for best community voluntary services and Honorary Doctrate degree from Russia/ Kazakhistan for contribution in setting up their simulation lab for medical and Nursing students/
guest speaker/ advisory committee board Member. She is the member of many professional bodies like: Trained Nurses Association of India, Nursing Research Society of India and Epidemiology Society of India National society of preventive and social medicine etc.
